Norm Campbell – a visual heritage
Over many years a good deal has been said and written about Norm and Olive Campbell, about their lives in Blackheath and in particular about their considerable contributions to the establishment, growth and success of the Rhododendron Gardens at the northern end of Blackheath the place which today carries their name. Each of them, in their own distinctive way, put a great deal of effort into the development and operation of this unique garden where exotic species are carefully blended with the indigenous landscape. Both were sensible and practical people who brought their considerable life skills to an enterprise-ready and waiting for their enthusiasm and initiative.
