August 17, 2019 @ 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm
SPEAKER for the AGM: Peter Meadows, BSc (Agric), Dip Ass Sys, FRES, FRSH.
Topic: The Ramblings of a Pest Manager.
Peter Meadows, is an agricultural scientist who has spent, literally, a lifetime in environmental pest management.
In his presentation he will take us from Glasgow down to Australia and then from the Middle East through India and S.E. Asia to China, reminiscing about his experiences, some funny, some sad, some exciting, some incredible as he practiced his trade over many parts of the world.
Courtesans in London, cockroaches on TAA aircraft, termites in the Queensland Houses of Parliament, the aftermath of Cyclone Tracy, verbal battles on the ABC and protecting our borders against exotic pests have all been part of his 50+ years of professional life.
Peter was the Technical Director for Rentokil in Australia, spent 16 years in senior technical positions with Flick, was the first President of the Australian Environmental Pest Managers Association and has run his own consultancy company since 1995.
He and his wife Dorothy have been residents of Blackheath since 2009. Peter will be our returning Officer for the Management Committee elections.
