Changes in the Garden

Maple walk autumnal colour

The Gardens are looking magnificent with autumn colour at its best. While there is colour throughout the gardens, the best can be seen on the Maple Walk where we have many maples in various states of change, and more in the Circular Garden.

Oreades removal

Some sad news as we made the decision that three Eucalyptus oreades in the valley had to be removed, likely succumbing to the prolonged wet period we have had.

They are over 60 years old and it is possible we will lose another. We will monitor this area closely as it is possible that the micro-climate of the valley may alter with more sunlight reaching the existing plants. We will then make a decision as to what to replace them with.

In the now very open area where once stood the magnificent Eucalyptus oreades should we develop a picnic area? Another specific garden style?
